Remembering to Love

I have one great love, and I'm ashamed to admit that up until just very recently, as in today, recently I have been taking him for granted. He's been there to get me through the mundane motions I take to get through life, but have I even listened to him lately? I mean, I hear him. He's there. Always. Being my cheerleader in life. I love him. I know I do. I bitch to my friends about his tiny flaws that annoy me. But annoy me in a way that I'd rather be annoyed by him than by anyone else. My favorite annoying, if you will. I digress. But today, today I remembered all those little Micro Moments of Love that make up the one true great love that I have for  music. After all these years music can make my heart flutter with feelings of being twitterpated in under 3 in a half minutes time and again. I need to make an effort to start really listening again and feel the emotion that is being transmitted via sound waves to me every day. I know there will still be (most) days where I go back to hearing without listening, because I'm most comfortable with it around. But today forward I'm going to make time to just listen and remember (how) to love.

"Ok, so we get someone with great hair that's really hot right now... Like a Victoria's Secret model or OO! a Pussycat Doll. She's a jetsetter, clearly so she doesn't always have time to wash her hair before she's flying off to her next destination. So she's on a plane, hair is just slicked back in a ponytail, nothing special. She goes into the airplane bathroom and decides to wash her hair there. She pulls out her HERBAL ESSENCES shampoo and begins to wash her hair... Oh it smells so good! Oh the lather is so sensual. Oh Oh OH! People on the plane are intrigued and turned on from the noises coming out of the airplane bathroom. She then emerges with beautiful perfectly styled hair."  

"Wait, so she's washing her hair in an AIRPLANE bathroom?" 

"Yes"

"In that sink that's probably 6 inches by 6 inches?"

"Yes"

"In those bathrooms where you can't extend your arms fully in any direction?"
"Yes"

"I LOVE it!"

Today Was a Good Day

This first post is a status that is waaay too long for Facebook.  Today was an amazing day. I haven't had a day this fulfilling in so long. I woke up at 6 to attend a meeting for my new job, picked up stuff at the drug store, picked up fancy cheese, dyed my hair, packed a picnic for a night in the lawn of Ravinia, which, by the way, is the only way to do lawn seats at a concert.  Then enjoyed hearing bands of teenage years that went by too too fast. In addition to that, tonight I spoke to my two best girl friends from California. Like a cupcake with cookie dough frosting.
